About the Job:

This position is responsible for assisting the Mortgage Originations Team with member applications, appointment scheduling, member documentation, reporting and referral/lead tracking.  Responsibilities also include assisting with general mortgage inquiries and gathering documentation from potential applicant(s) and/or Mortgage Representatives and uploading into LOS.  . Individual will ensure compliance with MCU and third party loan policies and federal, state and NCUA rules, regulations and laws.  This position is focused on the administrative side of the originations process and is responsible for supporting the rest of the team in this capacity.  Providing members with the highest level of member service.

What you’ll be responsible for:  
  • Build lifetime quality financial relationships with each member by providing competitive products and excellent service.
    1. Answers all incoming calls from general information phone lines.  
    2. Returns calls for general information to prospective borrowers.   
    3. Refers calls to the appropriate person within the Real Property department.  
    4. Mails applications, brochures, or other appropriate material to calling members as requested.  
    5. Pre-qualifies applicants.  
    6. Takes applications over the phone. 
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales tracking and member satisfaction survey reports using Microsoft Excel and internal reports.  
  • Monitor member submitted applications and import new loans into Mortgagebot LOS from POS.
  • Schedule appointments for the Mortgage Loan Officers.
  • Respond to telephone calls and emails directed to the Mortgage team and assist with general inquiries related to approval process, mortgage statuses and loan programs.
  • Review and process paperwork submitted by Mortgage Loan Officers and members.  Scan/upload application documents into Mortgagebot LOS.
  • Coordinates and communicates with MLO, members, processors to ensure the mortgage application process is smoothly completed with accurate documentation.  
  • Pipeline management – multiple loans in a fast-paced work environment
  • Review and distribute incoming emails and correspondence and monitor and validate MCU generated sales leads.
  • Assist with Mortgage department promotional activities, i.e. seminars, webinars, Realtor Days, etc.
  • In this role, the individual will assist in determining the applicant’s financial needs and promote mortgage products/services that meet those needs
  • Perform all clerical functions for the Mortgage department (i.e. maintenance of databases, marketing needs, and mailing thank you letters and promotional giveaways).
  • Track receipt of initial disclosure package from members
  • Compile competitive market analysis as needed.
  • Cross-sell other MCU products and services
  • Participate in MCU training programs and any other functions as requested.
  • Review initial customer document package for submission to processing
  • Maintain open communication with Mortgage Loan Officers and Processors regarding requirements to close files
  • Review pipelines daily to ensure a smooth transaction flow for all interested parties
  • Complete assigned tasks for Mortgage Loan Officers and Processors as needed
  • Acts as a back-up to mortgage processors 
  • Order and track status of: appraisal, payoffs, title report, HOI, VOEs as required for loan completion

  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance training inclusive of BSA/AML/OFAC and overall BSA/AML/OFAC compliance
  • Assist with post-closing requirements as needed
  • Perform other duties as required and requested by management.
What you’ll bring:
  • Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience, plus 1 year of experience in a first or second residential lending origination environment
  • Familiar with DocMagic a plus
  • NMLS will be required
