The Job: 

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be critical to driving sustainable improvements in our sites. This role will support the development of site roadmaps to reach the next level of maturity across multiple dimensions (e.g., standard work, tier meetings, digital enablement, performance metrics). They will be involved in site maturity assessments and benchmarking, targeted continuous improvement (CI) deployments at sites, support post-deployment of Manufacturing Excellence improvements to ensure implementation success. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you’ll be part of our Manufacturing Excellence team.  You’ll get to:  

*Be a change agent for the Stanley Production System
*Support and drive a targeted intervention/continuous improvement effort at specific sites co-identified with manufacturing leadership
*Monitor the implementation of prior continuous improvement efforts to ensure implementation success
*Facilitate site maturity assessments and develop roadmaps with plant leadership to address any gaps; supporting sites to reach the next level of maturity
*Drive operational improvement through the implementation of Lean standard tools and concepts such as Flow, Standard Work, 5S, Visual-Management, SMED, Poka-Yoke, PDCA, TPM, etc.
*Coach shop floor-based personnel including makers, supervisors, managers in new ways of working
*Support codification of any newly developed approaches, methodologies, and results


The Person:

Bachelor’s degree,  in Engineering preferred
5+ years of manufacturing experience
Manufacturing experience in line responsibility and/or experience with the main manufacturing functions: production, maintenance, quality, production engineering, internal logistics, and launch (NPI)
Prior operational consulting experience desirable
Lean / CI methodologies experience in operations
Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or other project management certification preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with interpersonal skills
Ability to travel up to 50-60% of the time, global and domestic, travel % may vary based on business needs
