Job description

With our rapid growth we are expanding our VAT team, which is part of Group Tax, and supporting the whole Hempel Group by ensuring high quality in all areas of the VAT compliance process throughout the business.

In this role you will need to:

  • Assist in building internal VAT Excellence Centre
  • Assist in establish Global VAT Control Framework
  • Assist in implementing Indirect Tax Compliance tool
  • Prepare indirect tax filings including performance of controls
  • Support in solving, improving, standardizing and automation of VAT processes
  • Ad-hoc VAT advisory within Hempel and supporting the business
  • Support reporting and controlling of other indirect taxes (import duties, excise duties etc.)
  • Prepare and review data for Tax Authorities including communication with Tax Authorities
  • Maintain and build strong relationship with tax advisors, Tax Authorities and other external stakeholders to ensure optimized and efficient cooperation

Qualifications and skills:

  • University degree in Economics, Tax or equivalent
  • Min. 2 years of experience in Finance/VAT
  • Have knowledge of VAT compliance processes and controls
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Have strong analytic skills and details-orientated attitude
  • Have knowledge of VAT legislation within EU and/or globally
  • Have an organized, independent and proactive approach   
  • Is a good team player and dedicated
  • Is service-minded and goal-orientated
