Job description

Job Summary::

North Stone is hiring a System Administrator who will ensure the set up and maintenance of our servers. You will be responsible for managing servers, configuring networks, maintaining software, and implementing security protocols. This involves monitoring system health, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing timely support to end-users. You'll also play a key role in system backups, updates, and disaster recovery planning. Your work will require collaboration with other SA’s to maintain a cohesive and efficient environment that supports the organization's operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: :
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers.
  • Perform regular updates and patches to ensure system stability and security.
  • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot any issues related to Windows server operations.
  • Build and manage servers within Azure GovCloud.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance requirements in the Azure GovCloud environment.
  • Apply DISA STIGs to ensure secure configurations for systems and networks.
  • Document STIG compliance and assist in internal and external security reviews.
  • Collaborate with cyber security teams to meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Manage Active Directory to ensure proper user authentication, access control, and organizational structure.
  • Create and maintain group policies to enforce security and compliance across the organization.
  • Implement and manage endpoint configurations to maintain consistent security and compliance.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)::
  • Active Secret clearance required!
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of experience working on DOD government systems
  • 5+ years of experience as a Windows System Administrator.
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance
  • Experience with:
    • Azure GovCloud server builds and management
    • Applying DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
    • Cyber security processes for obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO)
    • Interfacing with cyber security personnel
    • Working with Active Directory
    • Creating and maintaining group policies
    • Splunk, System Center Operations Manager and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
    • Working with .NET developers assisting troubleshooting and deploying code releases
    • Using GitLab is a plus
  • Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient In:
    • Windows Operating Systems
    • Internet Information Services
    • Active Directory
    • Group Policy Management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate closely, and bring other admins up to speed on your work rapidly and thoroughly.

Certifications

Minimum: Security+ and OS certification

Preferred: Azure certification is a plus
