Your Impact
The Business Development Manager will play a vital role in growing revenue and market share for the Industrial Specialties business unit, specifically in the oil and Oil and Gas sector. He or she will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and building and maintaining relationships with key customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and lead efforts to capture new customers, markets, and applications for chemical solutions.
  • Develop long-term, productive relationships with current Industrial Specialties customers by understanding their business needs and seeking to address their challenges.
  • Ensure that the customer views LBBS as a trusted partner and problem-solver enabling business retention and growth.
  • Leverage market knowledge to seek opportunities for new business development. Identify unmet needs, prioritize opportunities and partner within the organization to support growth opportunities.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for customers regarding product offerings, technical support, and services.
  • Establish (and follow) a rigorous process for following up on new leads, pursuing new lines of inquiry, etc.
  • Understand oil and gas chemical market trends and competitive environment.
  • Identify potential new markets, regions, and sectors to expand the business footprint.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote the company's products and services.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Provide market and customer feedback to all internal stakeholders.
Qualifications

What You will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within US specialty chemical distribution, specifically the oil and gas market
  • In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas chemical market, primarily in the UPSTREAM segment of the industry focusing on specialty chemicals and additives to assist with both the extraction of crude oil and natural gas along with attending to the needs of drilling companies and well-servicing companies.
  • Candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience in the technologies associated with Drilling and Well Completion, cementing and familiarity with a wide range of common chemicals used in the Industry including, but not limited to: Corrosion Inhibitors, Surfactants, Scale Inhibitors, as well as emulsion breaker and H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) scavengers.
  • Strong network and established relationships within the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully closing deals and achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
