Summary of Job Duties:
The Early Care and Education Projects (ECEP) Family Child Care Support team member will support ECEP in fulfilling the project's mission of educating, connecting, and equipping early childhood professionals. This hourly telecommute position will support the Family Child Care Network and family child care providers in Central Arkansas. Must be available to travel and work some evenings and weekends

Regular and reliable attendance is expected, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial working relationships with others. This is a one-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, funding availability, and a satisfactory performance level.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CDA credential or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years of experience providing direct services to children and families within the child care community

  • At least three years of experience with the state quality rating and improvement systems and state licensing regulations

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Experience with technology and Microsoft Office Applications


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years experience with the state quality rating and improvement systems and state licensing regulations regarding family child care homes

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting early childhood educators

  • Ability to collect data and information to meet reporting requirements

  • Familiarity with ECEP and its mission

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of child development and home-based childcare – the content and the business

  • Knowledge of Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education and specifically Family Child Care Minimum Licensing Regulations

  • Skill with Microsoft Office Suites, databases, and selecting software for business supports

  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to organize and communicate developmentally appropriate practices in writing and orally

  • Ability to gather and collect data and information on program participants and generate necessary reports to meet reporting requirements

  • Ability to work independently, reliably, and to be proactive with work assignments
