As we continue to expand within Europe, we are seeking a Business Development Consultant with an established network among companies, investors, and strategic partners in the climate sector.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with potential clients, investors, and strategic partners across Europe. In collaboration with CFS' business development and leadership teams, you will leverage your existing network in the climate sector to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development and Client Acquisition
    • Identify and engage climate startups, corporates, and other entities seeking grant funding
    • Work in collaboration with CFS’ existing business development team to run campaigns based on specific funding opportunities
    • Leverage your existing connections within the climate and sustainability ecosystem to generate leads
    • Develop and execute region-specific targeted outreach strategies to secure new business
    • Represent CFS at climate and sustainability conferences, networking events, and investor summits
  • Strategic Partnerships and Investor Relations
    • Cultivate and expand relationships with climate-focused VCs, private equity firms, impact investors, corporate partners, and funding agencies
    • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships that align with climate financing and grant development opportunities
    • Support CFS’ technical team with project-specific partnership development if and as needed
  • Revenue Growth and Performance Metrics
    • Meet and exceed business development and revenue targets
    • Track and report on sales pipeline, conversion rates, and client engagement
Qualifications and Experience
  • Required
    • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, consulting, or investment within the climate or sustainability sectors in Europe
    • A well-established network within the European climate sector, including startups, corporates, investors, and other entities
    • Proven ability to secure and manage high-value client relationships and partnerships
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision
    • Fluency in English
    • Experienced user of Salesforce or similar CRM
    • Physically based in Europe
  • Preferred
    • Understanding of the climate grant ecosystem, climate finance mechanisms, and public-private funding models
    • Established network with European funding agencies (EU and/or national)
    • Experience in project consortium-building and stakeholder engagement
    • Additional European language(s) a plus
Compensation
  • Hourly base - at least €60-80, varies with commission
  • Competitive commission - to be negotiated
