ABOUT APPLY DIGITAL

Apply Digital is a global digital transformation partner for change agents. Leveraging expertise that spans Business Transformation Strategy, Product Design & Development, Commerce, Platform Engineering, Data Intelligence, Marketing Services, Change Management, and beyond, we enable our clients to modernize their organizations and deliver meaningful impact to their business and customers.

Our 750+ team members have helped transform global companies like Kraft Heinz, NFL, Moderna, Lululemon, Dropbox, Atlassian, A+E Networks, and The Very Group.

Apply Digital was founded in 2016 in Vancouver, Canada. In the past nine years, we have grown to nine cities across North America, South America, the UK, and Europe.

At Apply Digital, we believe in the “One Team” approach, where we operate within a ‘pod’ structure. Each pod brings together senior leadership, subject matter experts, and cross-functional skill sets, all working within a common tech and delivery framework. This structure is underpinned by well-oiled scrum and sprint cadences, keeping teams in step to release often and retrospectives to ensure we progress toward the desired outcomes.

Wherever we work in the world, we envision Apply Digital as a safe, empowered, respectful and fun community for people, every single day. Together, we work to embody our SHAPE (smart, humble, active, positive, and excellent) values and make Apply Digital a space for our team to connect, grow, and support each other to make a difference.

With a deep passion for digital solutions—including strategy, products, platforms, and marketing—you will serve as a key facilitator between teams and stakeholders. Your ability to communicate effectively with leadership, product teams, and technical experts will be instrumental in delivering high-impact digital experiences.

As a Senior Scrum Master, you will be responsible for guiding Agile project management practices, tailoring processes to best fit the needs of your teams and clients. Your role extends beyond traditional Scrum duties, incorporating release management, cross-functional team coordination, and Agile coaching to ensure seamless project execution. This includes collaborating with product managers to facilitate managing product backlogs, roadmaps, dependencies, and release schedules to meet milestones efficiently while optimizing delivery processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agile Leadership & Team Facilitation
  • Champion Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or hybrid models) to optimize team workflows.
  • Lead and facilitate key Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
  • Act as a servant leader, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within teams.
  • Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile best practices, helping them develop autonomy and effective decision-making.
  • Advocate for the adoption of scaling frameworks (Scrum@Scale, SAFe, LeSS, Kanban, Scrumban) for workflow optimization.
  • Support conflict resolution and team growth, ensuring high performance and moral.

  • Release Management
  • Coordinate releases in collaboration with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and QA teams, ensuring timely and seamless deployments.
  • Maintain a release calendar and track release milestones while optimizing deployment processes using CI/CD methodologies.
  • Own and manage cross-team dependencies, ensuring smooth handoffs between teams and external partners.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, acting as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams.

  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement
  • Maintain transparency through providing input on weekly and monthly progress reports (WIP reports, risk summaries, sprint metrics, burn-down charts).
  • Manage expectations around scope, timeline, and project feasibility, ensuring successful outcomes for both clients and internal teams.

  • Continuous Improvement & Agile Operations
  • Drive Agile maturity by optimizing team workflows and iterating on Agile methodologies to improve project velocity.
  • Monitor team performance, backlog health, and sprint delivery metrics, leveraging Agile reporting tools like JIRA, Confluence and Notion.
  • Ensure documentation and knowledge-sharing best practices are followed, maintaining an Agile knowledge base.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years as a certified Agile scrum master (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent) with deep Agile expertise specifically in digital solution delivery through the SDLC.
  • Strong experience in release management, including CI/CD principles, versioning, and deployment planning.
  • Expertise in managing cross-functional teams and driving complex projects in fast-paced digital environments.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Airtable, Notion, Smartsheet, Instagantt, and MS Teams.
  • Strong team and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment, leading large software development and web technology teams.
  • Experience working with enterprise-level companies with a focus on Sports and Media or Entertainment is an asset.
  • Ability to diplomatically navigate complex and controversial discussions and de-escalate difficult situations.
  • A good dose of humility and positivity to drive your relentless pursuit of excellence.
