Field Training Technical Coordinator

Are you prepared to assume a crucial role within the Training Department?
The Field Trainer Coordinator is responsible for supporting the U.S. Services team by delivering essential safety and technical training required to deploy teams to customer wind projects. This role involves developing, instructing, and overseeing training in areas such as OSHA compliance, working at heights, and crane operations, among others.
Additionally, the Field Trainer Coordinator will work closely with Technical Trainers to develop and implement wind turbine systems and safety training. A key aspect of this role is monitoring and managing the Specialized Field Services (DWT’s traveling team) training needs, including onboarding support. Training progress will be tracked through the company’s Learning Management System (LMS).
This position will also assist in Operations and Quality support functions and will require extensive travel. The Field Trainer Coordinator will collaborate closely with the global training team to develop and enhance training programs for the various Wind Turbine platforms and other technical and regulatory requirements.

Provide hands-on training and certification programs for wind turbine technicians?
Are You Ready to:
Own and manage the Specialized Field Services training support function, ensuring technicians receive required training.
Assist in developing Wind Turbine systems training content for the U.S. training program.
Develop and organize training modules, Job Performance Measures (JPMs), approach distance cards, multimedia aids, and other educational materials to support Wind Turbine training.
Plan, develop, and deliver training using various methods such as classroom instruction, demonstrations, on-the-job training, workshops, and conferences.
Perform skills assessments for new hires and transitioning personnel to ensure technical proficiency.
Provide training on basic electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Assist in developing curriculum materials to align with technician career progression.
Develop and implement testing and evaluation procedures to measure training effectiveness.
Support internal rope rescue and advanced rescue training programs, first aid/CPR/AED, cranes and rigging, and other safety-related training.
Provide support to the Global Training Team, ensuring alignment with international training standards.
Work closely with the EHS Department to instill a strong safety culture across all training programs.
What You’ll Need:
High school diploma required; a college degree in a relevant field is preferred
5 years in a similar role or a combination of knowledge and experience with training programs in the wind industry
Valid driver’s license (NON-CDL or CDL)
Technical Trainer or Advanced Level Site Technician experience
Expertise in Electrical Theory and Hydraulic Theory
Proficiency in Basic and Advanced Troubleshooting
Knowledge of Basic and Advanced Turbine Operations
Strong proficiency in MS Office products (Word and Excel)
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines.
Employees must be physically fit enough to freely climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions.
Must be capable of rescuing team mates anywhere in tower in the event of emergency.

To help ensure their safety, any employees climbing a wind turbine must use a Personal Fall Arrest System, and may not exceed the system’s maximum weight capacity of 309 lbs. This weight must include the individual, their tooling, uniform, and personal protective equipment. Based on these safety requirements and the standard weight of equipment, employees who climb wind turbines may not exceed a maximum personal body weight of 260 lbs.
