Data Engineer — Remote
This is an open role in the insurance industry for our client. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining Azure data pipelines for various analytical use cases, including AI/ML/Gen AI. They will collaborate with skilled data engineers and data scientists to design, develop, and deploy data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading into SQLMI. This position requires expertise in automating data processes, implementing data governance policies, and enhancing business efficiencies through advanced analytics.

• Salaried: $31.86 to $42.48 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $37.94 to $50.59 per hour.
• 9-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm EST.

Responsibilities:
• Work with data professionals to transform business requests into value-add data products and capabilities.
• Automate, re-build, and re-imagine data processes to increase business process efficiencies.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop and uphold data architecture, including models, schemas, and dictionaries.
• Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring quality and consistency for analytical and operational uses.
• Adhere to data governance policies to safeguard data security, privacy, and compliance.
• Apply best practices in big data and cloud computing for scalable and effective solutions.
What you will need to succeed:
• University degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering).
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Advanced experience in automating data pipelines and working with data transformation tools.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, Spark, and C#.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling.
• Expertise in SQL queries, Databricks, and SQL Server.
• Advanced experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure and Data as a Service (DaaS).
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for ETL automation (nice to have).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Experience in data processing, performance analysis, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and familiarity with collaboration tools such as Teams and JIRA.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and openness to change and improvement.
• Knowledge of production release and operational support models.
