About the role

This newly added position will have direct account responsibility for our small to mid-size Pharma and Biotech (Cell Culture, Downstream processing, etc) customers in North America. They will work closely with internal colleagues and will evaluate the market for new business opportunities. When applicable, they may present functional application findings to the industry or customers. The position will also be responsible for understanding the latest market needs and implementing strategy to add value against those needs.

What will you do?

 

  • Manage base of small to mid-size NA pharma/biotech customers
  • Provide support to sales team (submitting requests to regulatory, quotes, etc.)
  • Establishing an internal network and having a strong cross functional approach to service customer needs
  • Work closely with customer care team to share visibility on any order delays or supply issues
  • Develop relationships within customers’ organization including R&D, Manufacturing and Procurement to foster counterpart relationships within Kerry
  • Promote Kerry products to customers via phone/email/digital marketing/face to face
  • Leverage LinkedIn Navigator to identify new account targets and contacts
  • Defend current business with established customer base and create and manage total opportunity pipeline of quality growth projects with current and target customers.
  • Provide technical support to the assigned customer base by leveraging internal resources and subject matter experts.
  • Continually manage and strengthen customers’ relationship with Kerry.
  • Partner with commercial finance and supply chain leads to ensure business forecasts are consistent with expectations.
  • Accountable for providing input to and complying (including indirectly through other team members) with all Kerry systems/processes appropriate for this role.
What will you need to be successful?
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field. 
  • 3+ years proven experience in Pharma/Biotech commercial sales (or technical sales support) role interacting directly with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand competitive marketplace knowledge and action strategic plan to deliver to customer base.
  • Must be capable of influencing others and increasing contribution.
  • Earlier technical/functional experience in R&D, process manufacturing, operations or quality desirable.
  • Have both a strong technical and commercial understanding of Bio/pharma applications 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Salesforce experience desirable.
  • Strategic thinker and planner – must demonstrate evidence of ability to prioritize top objectives and deliver smart plans to achieve them.
  • Relationship builder with excellent communications skills – with customers and internally with relevant stakeholders (working in a matrix environment)
  • Likes autonomy and is proactive - prepared to spend maximum quality time developing and nurturing multi-level contacts with customers, all aligned to delivering objectives.
  • Results driven – is focused and motivated to deliver agreed targets on revenue and margin
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time for work-related activities.
Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $75,602 to $111,475 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience, certifications, location, etc.  In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
