Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Claim Prep & File Supervisor (Government)

Work Location: In office or Remote

Pay: $45,000

This position is bonus eligible

Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hrs./wk., M-F Flex schedule 7am-7pm after training

Job Summary

The Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Claim Prep and File Supervisor (Government) provides leadership and oversight to all employees with the Government Claim Prep & File team. The supervisor ensures an overall high level of quality, efficiency, and productivity, while affirming all departmental goals and projections are met. Provides a positive work environment and mentors employees by providing purpose, motivation, and direction in-order-to accomplish the department’s mission.

Essential Functions/Duties

  • Oversee the claim submission process to ensure claims are submitted in accordance with all federal, state, and local government regulations and requirements in a timely manner.
  • Assure process and resources are allocated to provide required payor documentation assembly and filing in a timely manner.
  • Gather, analyze, and identify submission errors and recommend corrective actions and/or procedural changes.
  • Analyze work processes and implement procedural changes to maximize efficiency.
  • Set goals and motivate employees to foster high performing teams.
  • Work effectively as a member of a leadership team.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, giving presentations as needed.
  • Customer focus and adaptability to different personality types

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare/revenue cycle billing environment
  • Full - time experience in a managerial, or supervisory position with direct responsibility for delivery of patient accounts, follow-up and collection services
  • Must possess empathic and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an advanced level
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of CMS and other government billing guidelines
  • Must be able to work uninterrupted while on the clock

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with remote staff
  • Experience in ambulance billing or other emergency billing

Education

  • High school diploma
  • GED
  • Or significant, relevant work experience
