Position Description
We are hiring a Senior Accountant who will work with our Finance team to support Mechanism Ventures as well as Portfolio Companies. Reporting to the Controller you will be responsible for the review of a variety of daily and weekly accounting transactions. You will also recommend process improvements and may lead their 'roll-out' to Accountants and Accounting Assistants. Mechanism strives to automate recurring tasks and you will play an important role in such initiatives.
Each Finance team member promotes rapid, efficient communication among a variety of stakeholders in order to successfully operate in a dynamic and fast-paced group of companies. This includes a network of employees, contractors, CEO's, Practice Area Leaders, vendors, etc. within the US and those who may be located internationally.

Key Responsibilities
- Review of the work of others on the Accounting Team within Finance.
- Act as a lead for the Accountants and Accounting Assistants.
- Recommend and participate in process development and the continuous improvement philosophy within Mechanism Ventures with a focus on automation.
- Recurring production accounting for more complex processes such as building inventory costing, inter-company transactions and reconciliations, etc.
- Liaise with others within the Finance Team as well as those outside the organization.
- Assist with the updating of various reports within Finance including the FP&A function that you will also support.
- Support a variety of tax and registration processes.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Excellent written and oral English communication.
- Bachelors' degree in Accounting.
- Accounting experience with US-based companies and an understanding of US GAAP.
- Four years of accounting experience including at least two years of experience as a Staff Accountant or equivalent.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and foster an environment of rapid execution, accuracy, and efficiency.
- You are entrepreneurial and relentlessly resourceful.
- Ability to mentor others and create easy to follow processes and documentation of the processes.
- You are confident and comfortable timely communicating your ideas, potential blockers, and other important items to colleagues and other stakeholders.
- You are able to rapidly context switch as you work across vastly different industries and growth challenges.
- Professionally you are available to dedicate your efforts to this opportunity alone.
- You are a team player who can collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders of varying levels of knowledge.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.

Location and Time Commitment
We are fully remote - you can work wherever you're most productive. This role is full-time and will need to overlap with US ET for the majority of the workday. Your employment as a Full-Time Employee will be facilitated through our Employer of Record, Deel.
