Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Statistical Programming to join our dedicated Biometrics team.


The focus of this role is to:

  • To lead and manage the Statistical Programming team including budget, resources, vendors and CRO activities to the delivery of high quality, profitable and timely deliveries to MAC clients
  • To develop best working practices and Standard Operating Procedures to deliver on the portfolio of projects within the Statistical Programming team
  • To drive and deliver efficiency and effectiveness of programming activity, supporting both study reporting and wider organisational solutions


This is a fully remote role and therefore we require you to have a set up at home that allows you to work comfortably. This includes an appropriate desk and chair (excl. IT equipment which we will provide), please confirm you are able to do this before proceeding with your application.


KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Track record of leading and managing Statistical Programming functions, covering all aspects of Programming activities within clinical trials, leveraging internal and external resources; experience in timeline/resource/budget planning and vendor/contractor oversight
  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in an area relevant to the role
  • 8+ years of prior Statistical and Clinical Programming experience within CRO/Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven experience of delivering successful outcomes across client, vendor and internal teams
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills used to successfully coordinate and manage project teams to positive deliveries
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent computer skills including expertise in Programming solutions
  • and experience of evaluation; selection and implementation of systems/platforms to support the Biometrics function(s)


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


Department Management Duties Include:

  • Manage and oversee Statistical Programming Team
  • Activity planning, setting and delivering department objectives
  • Define and manage resource allocation for on time delivery


Project Lead:

  • As needed, perform the Lead Programmer role across studies and clients, delivering high quality outputs according to MAC processes, ICH-GCP, the project budget and timelines, achieving high client satisfaction


Perform or Oversee:

  • Advanced project oversight, planning and delivery from a Programming perspective, working with teams within MAC, and across clients and vendors
  • Development of SAS Programs and associated documentation according to study parameters and industry standards
  • Participation in bid defence meetings with new and prospective clients


Process:

  • Define and implement project specific strategies to allow the production of high-quality deliverables. Identify and resolve issues related to the statistical aspects of projects
  • Contribute to ongoing Biometrics quality process and system improvements
  • Support ongoing training and development of Statistical Programming team members
  • Provide expert Statistical Programming inputs across MAC, their clients and vendors
