A background in Finance is desirable and a diploma or bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field will be highly regarded.

What you will do
Finance Business Partners are responsible for the delivery of professional and reliable financial services to one or more divisions within the department.
Duties
Key duties that will be performed by the successful candidate may include a mix or all of the duties detailed below:
- Assist with management and coordination of daily tasks for the team including compiling and processing the creation and amendment of purchase orders in the department’s financial management information system, TechnologyOne,
- Assist in the preparation of the payment run files three times a week and manage the purchase order inbox requests,
- Effectively manage competing work priorities to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment,
- Liaise and communicate with key stakeholders on a range of financial matters, including compliance, payments and purchase orders
- Contribute to process improvement activities to enable consistencies and efficiencies to be achieved across the spectrum of financial services provided to divisions,
- Assist in the delivery of accurate and timely month-end reporting, including analysis and commentary that is fit for purpose and suited to the audience,
- Work with line areas to forecast expenses and revenue, accurately reflecting changes to planned business operations,
- Assist in developing and maintaining divisional budgets, including operational expenditure, revenue and staffing level components,
- Undertake month-end processes including commitment reporting, accruals, transaction reviews, forecasting and reconciliations,
- Asset management and debt management activities,
- Delivery of other financial services as directed.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance, and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
