Job description

Job Title: Bookkeeper with Buildium Experience

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with experience using Buildium to manage and maintain accurate financial records for our property management company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, an aptitude for managing financial transactions, and familiarity with property management software, specifically Buildium. This position plays a key role in ensuring our financial operations are seamless, efficient, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping: Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations using Buildium.
  • Property Management Accounting: Oversee tenant and owner accounts, ensuring accurate rent collections, invoicing, and timely deposits. Track payments and prepare owner distribution reports.
  • Monthly & Year-End Reporting: Generate monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports using Buildium. Assist in preparing year-end financial reports for tax purposes.
  • Lease & Tenant Data Management: Input and maintain lease and tenant information into Buildium, ensuring all financial details are accurately reflected.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets for property management clients and support forecasting for future financial goals.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all financial transactions comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and keep accurate records of financial documents and receipts.
  • Billing and Payments: Ensure all tenant and vendor billing is accurate and that payments are processed efficiently. Handle owner and vendor inquiries related to billing and payments.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain records of vendor contracts and payments within Buildium, ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner and according to contract terms.
  • Audit Support: Support internal or external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and reports.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or in a similar role, preferably in property management.
  • Buildium Knowledge: Proficient with Buildium property management software, including tenant management, accounting, reporting, and owner statements.
  • Accounting Expertise: Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with property managers, tenants, and vendors.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using various office software and property management tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Certification in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus.


Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle financial discrepancies.
  • Experience in managing financials for multiple properties or portfolios is a plus.


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
