Salary, Location & More
Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and US Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), requiring expertise in insurance accounting, statutory regulations, and financial reporting standards. Role can be based in New York, NY, Greenwich, CT or Charlotte, NC. Salary to the $150,000 range with a bonus on top

Prepare/review US GAAP and SAP financial statements for multiple life/health carriers.
Prepare/review journal entries and detailed account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
Collaborate with external auditors during year-end audits and statutory examinations.
Assist in building and maintaining internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement in reporting processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field, with 4+ years of accounting experience in the US insurance industry.
Experience in preparing and reviewing Life/Health statutory financial statements (“Blue Books”) is strongly preferred; knowledge of US GAAP for life insurers (LDTI and/or ASC 825) is also preferred.
