Job Description
A full-time, non-benefited, 40 hour / 12-month internship focused on data management, process optimization, and vendor research. This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern to join our team for a
full-time, non benefited, 40 hour / 12-month internship focused on data management, process optimization, and vendor research. This role will support our IFS operations by organizing and analyzing critical data, maintaining accurate property schedules, and improving workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify lists for recurring work orders to ensure smooth operations.
- Design and distribute surveys to gather information about assets and preferences.
- Clean and transform survey results into structured, usable data.
- Gather and organize information on potential vendors to support procurement and operational decisions.
- Maintain accurate property schedule lists and ensure up-to-date records.
- Develop and maintain a central lookup area for building-related information.
- Create and manage Excel files, ensuring areas are properly split into groups.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions such as XLOOKUP, text manipulation (RIGHT, LEFT, MID, LEN), and filter functions for data processing.
- Perform basic date manipulations to support scheduling and reporting needs.
- Apply basic Microsoft VBA knowledge to automate repetitive tasks and improve data workflows.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, and basic data manipulation techniques.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Microsoft VBA for automation.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and manage large sets of data efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Prior experience with surveys, data collection, or vendor research is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.
Qualifications
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
