The Equipment Product Safety and Compliance Specialist works within the safety and compliance team to execute on tasks required for the company to maintain its legal and other obligations. The expert supports the company’s regulatory initiatives by distilling technical information for non-experts, communicating product requirements and industry standards, auditing documents and test results, supporting internal workflows and processes, and working to proactively ensure we are on the forefront of compliance. This expert will focus mainly on managing equipment and other durable goods.
This role will also work closely with Clark’s Procurement division, which procures both private label and branded products for our various distribution channels (industry leading Ecommerce platform WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.).
This is a hybrid position to our office in Lancaster, PA, but open to highly qualified remote candidates.
Responsibilities
Ensure all products comply with relevant state, national, and international regulations (e.g., EPA, DOE, California Energy Commission, SASD), with a focus on US energy standards.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure prompt adjustments to maintain ongoing compliance.
Build and nurture relationships with regulatory bodies to support compliance and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Establish and manage comprehensive safety programs throughout product development.
Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to address potential safety risks in products and processes.
Ensure product labeling and packaging meet all regulatory requirements.
Offer guidance and support to cross-functional teams on regulatory issues, aligning with business goals.
Create and implement procedures to handle safety and regulatory issues, including product recalls and investigations.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fin manipulations.
Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
Access to a home router and modem.
A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.

Experience
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in regulatory affairs and compliance, within the commercial and institutional products industry
Proven track record of successfully navigating regulatory requirements and implementing compliance strategies in equipment categories
Experience working within a safety and/or quality management systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics/Electromechanical) required.
