Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Merchant Accounting Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing residual reporting, including trends in profitability, margin, pricing, and processing volumes to ensure accurate payment. You will also prepare journal entries for revenue and accruals, calculate commission payouts for agents, and support the annual year-end external audit process. Additionally, you will handle the reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts and provide accurate data summaries and reports as required.
As a Financial Analyst, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in data analysis and finance to contribute to various key financial processes. The role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations. Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyze residual reporting, including trends and fluctuations in profitability, margin, pricing, and processing volumes, to ensure accurate payment.
- Prepare and enter journal entries for revenue and accruals, including intercompany.
- Calculate residual commission payouts for agents and prepare commission bill uploads.
- Annual year end external audit preparation and support.
- Reconcile relevant bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Collect, summarize and organize data.
- Other ad hoc requests and projects as needed
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in finance, accounting or data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data analytics or similar field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills, including advanced functions and data analysis.
- Experience using other database software such as Microsoft Access preferred.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a passion for process improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in the payment processing industry preferred.
Travel Component
Working Conditions
- Extensive desk-based work involving prolonged periods using a computer and sitting for extended periods
- Frequent interaction with team members, management, agents, Business Development Managers (BDMs), and external partners to facilitate smooth operations and collaborations
