Wood is recruiting for a Marine and Logistics Advisor to join its Process and Energy business within our Operations team. You will provide support in the delivery of cost-effective marine operation in underwater inspection, drilling projects / activities, decommissioning, repair and maintenance campaigns including subsea and pipelines inspection. This is a 12 month contract and we are open to fixed term, PAYE or PSC. This role can be based remotely with some offshore travel.
The Role
You will provide marine expertise as a support function to the Technical / Operations Managers and collaborate with various internal teams, including Technical, Projects, Decommissioning, Maintenance and HSE.
You will also have external working relationships with various Government Bodies including HSEx, OGA, BEIS, OPRED, HCA and CAA.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
- Ensure that all marine activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all UK regulatory requirements, legislation, industry Best Practice and Company HSEQ procedures
- Ensure a cost-effective marine spread for the scope of work required
- Coordination of all subsea / survey / marine / diving / rov work scopes, and contractors for field operation, drilling / workover activities, decommissioning and CCS projects
- Ensures commitments with contractors are aligned with regulatory permits and consents
- Assist in the definition of the risk management for the marine activities required
- Review the cost estimation (CTR’s) from contractor and align with the Scope of works
- Prepare and track budgets, Forecast and outlook, for subsea and survey activities and ancillary contracts
- Review Rig / Jack up moving procedures, RA, and assists in the Vessels selection for the Rig move
- Review Seabed Stabilisation (Rock Dumping) procedures and RA
- Ensure alignment of the Marine warranties Surveyors with the Scope of work
- Provide assistance in the management of emergencies
- Provide assistance in the decommissioning of the FSU OSI and subsea structures
- Ensure proper monitoring of marine operations performance and costs
- Ensure audits under OCIMF / OVID and /or IMCA / CMID and / or Internal Protocols, are regularly conducted and findings are properly followed up on yearly basis and / or before entering in use
- Prepare ITT documentation for subsea, geophysical, geotechnical, rock dumping, and ancillary contracts, and assist procurement in the tender evaluation

Expected
- Extensive experience in offshore marine operations, ranging from subsea, survey, rock dumping, construction and heavy lifting along with broad experience within the marine offshore, oil & gas and energy industry
- In depth knowledge and familiarity with current UKCS legislative framework and Offshore Installation and Decommissioning procedures
- Strong technical background within subsea production / control system intervention and extensive operational work pack development experience
- Contract management experience
- In depth knowledge in HAZID / HAZOP / HIRA for marine activities
- Knowledge of company HSEQ Policies and Business Management System (BMS)
- Fluent knowledge of English
- Knowledge of naval engineering & construction codes, standards and best practices
- Knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines e.g. MARPOL, SOLAS, ISGOTT
