About the Role:

To realize Confluent Cloud’s enormous customer potential, we are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager for the Product-Led Growth (PLG) team which is responsible for optimizing the first experiences of Confluent Cloud customers. Cloud Growth is a strategic investment area for Confluent with the potential to impact the company’s top and bottom line. The engineering team inside PLG focuses on the rapid experimentation of new user experiences, pricing and packaging offers and engaging demos to help drive acquisition, activation, and feature attach of customers on Confluent Cloud. We are looking for someone with an interest in building agile solutions, with a focus on excellent user experience in the cloud. The ideal candidate would be passionate about A/B testing, data streaming, and business metrics while building robust software smartly.

What You Will Do:

• Own the overall vision for the Cloud Growth team -- including, but not
  limited to Start with Confluent, Cross-sell, upsell and more. Along with this, help us expand the business metrics platform at Confluent.
• Work closely with product management, designers and other key stakeholders to build and drive the overall roadmap for Confluent’s Growth Platform to enable new user acquisition and revenue growth opportunities.
• Deliver high impact to the business by driving important technical initiatives in areas comprising (but not limited to) Kafka, Flink, Connectors and Stream Governance adoption/expansion, security, identity, and architectural direction, across organizational boundaries. 
• Work with engineering teams & product on critical aspects of product definition, architectural design, and delivery.

What You Will Bring:

• Minimum of 10+ years of software development with 2+ years of management experience.
• Technical expertise in large scale systems engineering or distributed systems
  expertise in Cloud Native technologies.
• Experience running production services in cloud Familiarity with high-scale analytics systems.
• Ability to influence the team, peers, and upper management using effective communication and collaborative techniques. 
• Ability to hire while ensuring a high hiring bar, keep engineers motivated, coach/mentor, and handle performance management.
• A great track record of timely shipping features and have a sense of urgency, an aggressive mindset towards achieving results, and excellent prioritization skills.
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. An advanced in computer science is preferred.

What Gives You an Edge:

• Experience with frontend is a plus, more than half the engineers in the team you will lead are Frontend engineers.

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $252,000 - $296,100 and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
