The National Account Senior Director (NAD) is a results driven leader focused on leading, managing, negotiating and directing all Bioventus strategic contracting business and operational activities for assigned GPOs or assigned national IDNs.
This role will require strategic partnerships with Business Area Leads, Leadership Team members, Field Sales Leaders, Legal, Contract Admin, Regulatory, Sustainability, Quality, manufacturing, U.S. Professional Affairs and, Government Accounts and Government Affairs and Health Economics in order to drive Bioventus revenue growth and market presence.
Leveraging extensive medical industry expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking, the National Account Director will collaborate cross functionally to ensure the successful growth of Bioventus products with assigned GPOs.
What you'll be doing
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive national GPO strategy that aligns with Bioventus’ business objectives to ultimately drive growth. Lead and inspire focused internal and external customer teams to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations.
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within assigned GPO or national IDNs. Identify customer needs, challenges, opportunities, and tailor committed solutions that address their specific needs and requirements. Provide full account leadership and direction in responding to RFIs & RFPs.
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through strategic national contracts. Develop and execute business growth strategies, including opportunities to reduce price erosion in competitive bids and develop pricing programs to facilitate broader product adoption. Drive targeted plans and marketing strategies for execution of growth strategies with field sales for contract award pull through.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate and build synergistic relationships closely with Bioventus Field Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal and other cross-functional partners to ensure strong strategic account execution. Lead and manage contract implementation and pull through efforts while partnering with key internal stakeholders. Successfully launch contracts with Field Sales and Corporate Accounts Team.
- Negotiation and Contracts: Lead negotiations for national agreements with assigned GPOs & IDNs. Work with appropriate business cross functional stakeholders ensuring favorable terms while mitigating Bioventus business risk. Manage price governance, most favored nations and legal terms & conditions with Finance & Legal for assigned accounts.
- Customer Satisfaction: As the primary point of contact for GPOs, ensure exceptional internal and external customer satisfaction by building trust, addressing concerns promptly, and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Market Awareness and Insights: Through key customer relationships and market resources, monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats. Leverage insights to adapt and refine sales strategies for sustained growth.
- Sales Performance Tracking: Maintain a reporting system to monitor progress against targets & key performance indicators while identifying areas for improvement & communicating performance metrics to cross functional stakeholders & leadership.
What you'll bring to the table
- BA/BS; MBA preferred.
- Previous experience leading teams.
- Demonstrated leadership without authority.
- 5-7 years of experience supporting GPO and Aggregation groups
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working with healthcare supply chain or equivalent experience.
- Disciplined, collaborative, sense of responsibility, solution-oriented team player with a sense of urgency.
- Working knowledge of the evolving healthcare payer/provider environment.
- Knowledge of the medical device industry & trends.
- Demonstrated effectiveness with GPO contracts/contracting process with an in-depth understanding of the functions and procedures of IDNs.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to details and excellent communication skills: verbal & written.
- Demonstrated data analytics proficiency
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
