Job description

Position Purpose: The Senior Director, Continuous Improvement will lead the organization's efforts in evaluating, revising, and optimizing processes, methods, and practices to enhance provider engagement, provider experience, and overall provider performance. Reporting to Regional Vice President, Provider Strategy, the role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of provider engagement and healthcare operations. This role will collaborate closely with shared services areas such as claims, health services, finance, and other relevant departments to address issues impacting provider engagement and performance. Additionally, this position will lead critical ad hoc and strategic initiatives for the Regional Vice President of Provider Strategy and oversee a Senior Project Manager.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy focused on enhancing provider engagement, experience, and performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement through data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate existing processes, tools, and practices related to provider engagement and performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement.
  • Partner with shared services areas such as claims, health services, finance, and others to address abrasion issues impacting provider engagement and performance.
  • Collaborate on process improvements and initiatives to streamline operations and improve overall service delivery to providers.
  • Lead critical ad hoc and strategic initiatives identified by the Regional Vice President of Provider Strategy to drive improvements in provider engagement and performance.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee a senior project manager responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the project manager and other team members as needed.
  • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track progress, identify areas for further improvement, and make data-driven recommendations for action.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization, including Vice Presidents, Staff Vice Presidents, and Senior Directors, to gather feedback and insights on provider engagement and performance.
  • Foster collaboration and communication to ensure alignment and support for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field required

Master's Degree preferred: 5+ years Proven experience in a leadership role focused on continuous improvement, process optimization, and project management, in the healthcare industry with a national insurer or provider group required
In-depth knowledge of provider engagement strategies, healthcare operations, and performance improvement methodologies required
Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels required
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and achieve measurable results
required

Pay Range: $145,100.00 - $268,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
