About The Role: The Product Operations and Strategy Lead will be instrumental in spearheading Fairmoney’s strategic growth in Zambia while leading our market entry and expansion in South Africa. This role demands a dynamic leader who can manage existing operations while simultaneously setting up new processes, teams, and strategies in a different market. The Lead will oversee the P&L for both regions, driving business growth, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives aligned with Fairmoney’s global objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Strategize and execute on growth initiatives in Zambia, optimizing and expanding existing lending operations to increase market share and profitability.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive entry strategy for launching lending services in South Africa, ensuring alignment with regional needs and Fairmoney’s overarching mission.
  • Manage the P&L for both South Africa and Zambia, closely monitoring performance metrics and making strategic decisions to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across both markets to deliver on key projects and initiatives, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated and goals are achieved.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships and negotiate commercial terms to enhance service offerings and competitive positioning in each market.
  • Act as the primary regional representative for Fairmoney, interfacing with senior executives and stakeholders to provide insights and updates on market dynamics and operational progress.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 5 years of experience in operations, strategy, or product management within a high-growth technology or financial services company.
  • Proven track record of managing operations and driving growth in established markets, as well as launching new products or services in emerging markets.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing diverse teams across different geographic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for turning complex challenges into scalable solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of the financial services regulatory environment and market dynamics in both South Africa and Zambia.
  • Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in fast-paced and changing environments, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
