Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with a focus on security and a strategic vision to build and maintain our platforms in compliance with required security levels. The ideal candidate should be proactive, motivated, and curious, with a strong sense of responsibility and a passion for security and compliance. They should be able to anticipate risks and drive initiatives that continuously enhance platform security.

This professional will be responsible for leading security initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities, ensuring compliance, and promoting the adoption of best practices from solution design to deployment. The role focuses on strengthening the security posture of cloud services and other platforms. Additionally, they will play a key role in automation and empowering teams to adopt security autonomously, ensuring that security is seamlessly and efficiently integrated into workflows.

• Critical Thinking and Efficiency-Oriented Approach – Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs to strengthen security without impacting platform scalability and resilience.
• Network and Perimeter Security – Expertise in managing and strengthening layers such as WAF, CDN, Security Groups, VPCs, encryption, and authentication/authorization processes.
• Innovation and Adaptability – Continuous monitoring of trends, threats, and new security practices to ensure platform evolution.
• Threat Detection and Response – Experience with tools such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and others for monitoring, anomaly detection, and rapid incident response.
• Security Evangelization – Promoting a security culture by developing training, documentation, and best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Cloud Computing security (AWS) and its respective services, including threat modeling and pentesting.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Service Mesh, Terraform, API Gateway, encryption, and pipelines.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and building security guardrails and policies as code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in dynamic environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience in technical leadership and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, quickly learn and master various technologies.
• Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• English or Spanish is a plus.
