Job description

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa - we are a global BPO company, partnering with a U.S.-based insurance brokerage firm specializing in property and casualty insurance across the United States. Our client focuses on helping businesses and individuals who face challenges obtaining insurance due to their industry, business type, or property location risks (e.g., wildfire-prone areas). Their business thrives on policy renewals, making customer retention a top priority. We are seeking a Policy Renewal Administrator with U.S. Insurance experience to support their team remotely.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Working Hours: This role requires you to work USA hours Mon - Fri from 9am to 6pm EST (16h00pm to 01h00am South African time. These working hours are subject to change depending on daylight savings)
  • Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.
  • Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
  • Power Backup: A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage policy renewals by retrieving information from insurance websites, updating internal systems, and organizing policy documents.
  • Handle both simple and complex renewals, ensuring all required details are accurately assessed and updated.
  • Communicate with clients via phone and email to confirm policy details, assess ongoing coverage needs, and provide renewal assistance.
  • Analyze client circumstances to determine whether the current policy still meets their needs and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. insurance regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of policy updates and customer interactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to support client retention and policy renewals.

Requirements

  • Experience with U.S. insurance policies (Property & Casualty, not limited to healthcare insurance).
  • Customer service experience within the U.S. insurance or financial sector.
  • Previous experience in a BPO environment supporting U.S. insurance clients will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Time management and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
