The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Senior Corporate Fundraising Strategist.   This work-from-home position can be located anywhere in the United States.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The Corporate Programs unit is the central office through which high-quality, consistent fundraising programs and platforms are created that reflect the organization’s fundable strategic opportunities. It is also the primary office through which corporate strategy is developed to maximize fundraising locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.

To support corporate fundraising and deliver value to fundraising relationship managers, The Senior Program Manager for Corporate Fundraising Strategy will facilitate the development of multi-program, custom or complex fundraising strategies and proposals for corporate major gifts. The Senior Program Manager will serve as an organizational expert on corporate fundraising and drive toward the national corporate fundraising target. Experience in corporate fundraising is necessary. Experience with cause marketing, in-kind donations, and workplace giving preferred.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:

  • Facilitate fundraisers’ development of multi-program, custom or complex fundraising strategies and proposals, with a focus on large $1M+ asks.
  • Provide leadership and facilitation for monthly Senior Partner Cohort calls.
  • Provide coaching and support to fundraisers and priority regions as identified by Division Fundraising Vice Presidents.
  • Lead strategy for and management of custom stewardship and benefits execution, in accordance with the Corporate Benefits Matrix.
  • Plan and execute national Mission Leader benefits within assigned divisions including but not limited to custom stewardship reports, targeted mission engagement and leadership access.
  • Lead the successful development, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of major gift fundraising packages.  
  • Serve as an organizational subject matter expert in corporate giving.
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training / informational sessions to all levels of the fundraising team.
  • Work closely with fundraisers and internal program owners to maximize fundraising opportunities, with a focus on targeted large funding opportunities.
  • Create and maintain fundraiser-facing and donor-facing guidance and communication for assigned program areas, posted to One Source.
  • Collect and analyze data, identify trends and areas of need and/or improvement, and develop recommendations for program improvement. Develop reports for management review.
  • Administer processes within assigned program area. Analyze operating practices and recommend revisions to improve established procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with internal departments and external stakeholders, including occasional work with donors and leadership volunteers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Business, Logistics Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven years related experience working with a nonprofit in fundraising, marketing, logistics, and/or program management.
  • Experience with corporate fundraising principles and techniques.
  • A high degree of organizational, analytical, and project management skills, including the ability to anticipate risks, analyze and manage data, problem-solve, and develop strategic and creative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, prioritize, articulate, and execute strategies in a complex and changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and negotiation.
  • Motivation, strong initiative, and ability to foster collaboration across multiple teams. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple perspectives to achieve program goals successfully.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in difficult or sensitive situations.
  • Ability to perform and thrive under pressure in a rapidly changing and multidimensional environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required, and proficiency in Salesforce is desired.
  • Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs.
  • Willingness to work outside standard established business hours and up to 20% of business travel is required.  This is mainly driven by disaster activity.

Strong program management experience in a large, complex organization.   

Significant Corporate Fundraising experience.

SALARY INFORMATION: The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $98,000

Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications.
