What we’re looking for
Vacasa is looking for a strong leader who is energetic and highly skilled in communications and project management to lead the Safety Team. The Occupational Health & Safety Manager is part of our leadership team for central operations support, helping to shape our operating procedures by implementing safety initiatives to provide support to a geographically dispersed staff.
A person acting in this position must be a good facilitator and have excellent communication skills, including clear and concise writing. This role requires innovative thinking in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. What you'll do
The Occupational Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, monitoring, and adapting safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees. The main duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Acting as the Program Administrator for Vacasa’s safety programs. This role will report to the Director of Operations Support and work closely with the Field Operations, Employee Experience, Risk Management, Legal, and Innovation teams to incorporate improved safety initiatives into our personnel policies, operating procedures, and training programs.
- Conducting safety meetings, audits, and investigations to ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Developing specific safety objectives and creating action plans to meet those objectives.
- Maintaining, reviewing and reporting safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement along with implementing preventative and corrective actions as required.
- Analyzing incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies in order to create policies that eliminate workplace hazards and lead to a safer work environment.
- Responding to OSHA inquiries and employee safety-related complaints.
- Filing and distributing annual OSHA injury and illness reports.
- Collaborating with field management to develop Emergency Action Plans for each worksite and implementing emergency response procedures when necessary.
- Providing safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Participating in change management activities associated with process/project analysis and implementation.
- Promoting a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and regulatory compliance.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Skills you'll need
Education and Experience
- 4-year college degree
- 5 years prior work experience in OHS and hospitality
- Prior work experience in project management
Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of US OSHA standards for general industry
- Experience in evaluating worksites for safety and security risks
- Experience researching and defining regulations
Technical Skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Process-oriented with a business mindset and vision for successful training.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- The ability to influence others at all levels in the organization and to drive consensus on key decisions.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and respectfully keep discussions focused.
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail and track record of delivering high quality work.
- Ability to manage process implementation remotely across diverse locations.
Other Skills We’d Like:
Proficiency in Google Apps.
- Experience with CanOSH and CCOHS is a bonus.

Compensation:
- $70000 - $90000 / year. Actual pay will vary based on a candidate's skill, experience, education and/or location.
