This is a remote position.
BIT - Beam Institute of Technology offers technology-related courses to adults.
We work both with companies wanting to retrain their employees, as well as with individuals who are unemployed and looking for a career change or opportunity to advance their skills.
Training that we offer to companies is tailored to the needs of the client teams and held in a format of workshops to the short-term courses.
Courses that we offer to individuals are 6-, 9- and 12-month long and lay in the domain of web engineering and machine learning. We support our students with career and job search coaching.
BIT was founded in 2022 in Berlin: we are at our fast phase of growth. Our working culture is remote-first. Currently our team members are based in the EU.
What is important for us:
Language Skills: Fluent spoken and written proficiency in both German and English.
Deep UX/UI Expertise: Extensive knowledge of usability, accessibility, design thinking, user interaction, and visual design principles.
Advanced Design Tools Proficiency: Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, and other prototyping and wireframing tools.
User Research Capabilities: Strong experience conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability testing; ability to develop personas, create user journey maps, and design effective information architectures.
Visual Design Excellence: In-depth understanding of typography, color theory, composition, iconography, and responsive design for various devices.
Design Systems Creation: Proven experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive design systems, including CMS integration and systematized workflows.
Front-End Basics: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure effective collaboration with development teams.
Iterative Prototyping: Skilled in creating high-fidelity prototypes and interactive mockups using agile methodologies and collaborative design processes.
Communication and Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to teach or mentor, with excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly explain complex design concepts.
Responsibilities
Teaching the UX/UI Design module as part of the design course.
Conducting lessons in German, in groups of 10-20 students.
Lesson schedule: from 9:30 to 12:45/14:30 CET.
Evaluating student work, including testing, grading, and homework review.
Participating in school activities (masterclasses, open lessons, etc.).
Keeping the course content up to date together with the educational department.
