Job description

This is a remote position.

What you will be doing

Our client is one of the fastest growing tech companies in history! Supporting this rapid growth requires top talent, which could be you. We are looking for a full time Senior Technical Program Manager to join their platform engineering team. In this role, your responsibilities will include managing service migrations to the cloud, working with top-level platforms and service owners. You’ll determine the capacity needed per zone and the burndown rate for the exiting zone. You’ll run weekly status meetings, communicate issues, risks, and blockers as you plan and execute one migration per quarter (using Jira for task and project management).

 

As you come up to speed on migrations, you’ll have the opportunity to streamline and create data analytics, metrics, key results regarding health, incidents, and MTTR. You’ll create and maintain Tableau and Google Looker studio dashboards for team reporting and communications. This position will be full time US remote, working Pacific time hours.



Requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in technical program management in a software development or Infrastructure management org.
  • 2+ years’ work experience as a software engineer.
  • 3+ years working hands-on with Jira to manage and prioritize tickets, build dashboards, and communicate status (done, in-progress, not started)
  • Strong Data Analytics skills: Ability to understand and edit SQL queries to unblock self in aggregating/collecting data.
  • Can build good, informative dashboards with Google Looker studio and Tableau.
  • Able to use other productivity tools: Slack, Excel, Google Sheets
  • Grit, passion, energy, and a strong sense of ownership coupled with an appetite for collaboration!
  • Incredible attention to detail, and the ability to track and communicate those details to stakeholders succinctly and clearly.
  • Superb communication skills: writing (documentation, procedures, emails, etc.), and verbal (Running meetings, driving actions through influence, reporting to stakeholders).

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, CS, or another technical field.
  • 7+ years of exp. managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects in a software development or Infrastructure management org.
  • 5+ years working with Jira to manage and prioritize tickets, build dashboards, and communicate status.
  • Previous work as a Software Engineer working on Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Previous experience with migration of on-prem services to cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working across a distributed, and highly integrated team with technical and non-technical members to drive closure on open issues.
  • PMP Certification/ PgMP Certification
  • Agile Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Master

  • Remote, but worker must be in the US and willing to work in the Pacific time zone.
