Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (EST)

Position Overview:

Were looking for a Mechanical HVAC Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in HVAC system design for custom single-family homes and commercial projects. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of building codes (Florida Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE) and is proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and energy calculation software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations and perform cooling/heating load and energy code calculations.
  • Select appropriate HVAC equipment and ensure building code compliance.
  • Develop HVAC system designs using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Design direct-expansion (DX), variable refrigerant volume/flow (VRV/VRF), and water-based HVAC systems.
  • Assist in the design of smoke-control systems and commercial kitchen ventilation.
  • Provide construction administration support, reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of HVAC design experience in residential (single-family/multifamily) and commercial (retail, restaurants, office) projects.
  • Strong understanding of Florida Building Code, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and energy calculation software (e.g., Trace/HAP).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in plumbing and/or fire protection system design, including:
  • Sanitary, domestic water, and stormwater systems.
  • Demand flow and head loss calculations.
  • Selection and sizing of pumps, water heaters, and interceptors.
