Territory Manager

Ohio

 

Merchants Insurance Group, is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, and is looking for an experienced Territory Manager to join our Western Strategic Business Center (WSBC) Regional Operations team.  

The Territory Manager (TM) will work from home and report to our WSBC Regional office located in our Corporate Headquarters in Buffalo, New York.  The TM will manage the growth and profitability metrics for an assigned territory located throughout Ohio by adding value to our agency partners by developing and executing individual agency business plans that support our mutual goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Cultivating solid relationships with Agents while working towards achieving the most optimal outcomes for Merchants and our policyholders.
  • Achieve direct written premium goals for assigned territory by leveraging key agency relationships and Merchants value added services.
  • Manage and develop agency plant in assigned territory by completing a minimum number of monthly agency calls, distributing timely call reports and addressing all agency needs as directed by the Regional Vice President.
  • Provide market intelligence to assist Sales and Product Development with rate revisions, new product development, and competitive selling advantages.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in the P&C industry with an agency management orientation.
  • Sales and marketing background with ability to promote our brand.
  • Commercial Lines Underwriting experience highly desirable.
  • CPCU and other industry designations are a plus.
  • Previous Agency relationships within the local insurance industry are highly desirable.
  • The ability to travel up to 75% of the work week.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

 

Merchants Insurance Group Pay information:

Merchants Insurance Group offers a competitive pay scale.  The actual compensation will be determined based upon experience and other factors permitted by law.  The initial pay range for this position is $90,000 - $118,000.
