A Little About the Role:

Ooni is looking to add an experienced Key Account Manager with a creative, team-oriented mindset to our roster. This role will work alongside our US (and Global) Sales Teams to develop and grow our omni-channel retail presence. In this role, you’ll be responsible for selling Ooni products and accessories to our premier retail partners. You’ll be able to quickly and naturally build rapport with your partners and use this to crush your sales targets while finding growth opportunities aligned to our strategic goals, as well as protecting profitability within your accounts.   


What you’ll do:

  • Drive growth across a portfolio of wholesale national retailers while developing relationships and terms of business and ensuring it’s in line with our strategic priorities.   
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers within each national account.  
  • Ensure sales and marketing targets are achieved on a quarterly basis.
  • Lead forecasting both on a rolling monthly basis, seasonally and longer term strategic planning.
  • Track consumer and product trends nationally to inform sell-in and sell-through tactics.
  • Track demand planning, projections and sell through and adapt to ensure account success.
  • Develop a strategic sales plan for complex retail accounts, using both market and specific account insight, trends and goals to achieve sales targets and align with brand and category objectives.
  • Work with marketing colleagues to design and deliver specific sell in and sell through programs within your accounts.
  • Keep a constant eye out for opportunities to improve in-store position, execution and performance.
  • Demo our products at trade shows, training events and national account meetings.
  • Work with your sales team colleagues to identify improvement opportunities and efficiencies in our account management processes.
  • Travel (30%) is expected to meet with accounts, attend events/tradeshows, and visit stores locally.


What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Significant demonstrable experience (for example 3-5 years) working in a sales and/or account management role, preferably within the outdoor industry, consumer goods, or a retailer.
  • Sales leadership experience is also preferred (2+ years). 
  • Stellar communication and people skills.
  • Ability to travel within the US to meet with key retail accounts.  
  • Authenticity in building positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Killer organizational skills both in your own ways of working and in handling client needs.
  • Great attention to detail. There’s a test somewhere in this advert on this point.
  • Outstanding presentation skills and experience in applying these to product demonstrations.
  • Proactivity and responsiveness! Our customers are our number one priority; we want them to feel valued so we need to respond to them quickly, and more importantly, positively. 


You’ll get bonus points if you:

  • Love talking about pizza
  • Are based in Texas. We’re open to considering candidates from other states, but Texas is our preference as our office is in Austin!  
  • Have experience with, or show willingness to quickly learn how to use, CRMs, Slack and ERP software.
  • Have experience managing any of the following retailers: Target, Best Buy, Lowe’s. Ace Hardware, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports, Williams Sonoma, or Crate & Barrel.
