A little bit about the role…

The Account Executive is a professional, customer-centric sales person with a technology sales background in government who will grow our business and number of customers. Candidates must have previous experience successfully prospecting over a large geographical region. This is an individual contributor sales position that requires a high degree of autonomy, activity, and attention to detail and enjoys working in a disruptive market. Civitech is a remote-first company hiring within our current footprint of 22 states (AK, CA, CO, DE, FL, HI, IL, MA, MN, ND, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY).

The Sales Team at Civitech is focused on empowering Democratic campaigns, progressive organizations, and labor organizations with cutting-edge technology and data solutions. We drive the adoption of our tools by building and nurturing strategic partnerships. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, the Account Executive will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing relationships with current Civitech customers, leading regular strategic conversations to identify additional opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and executing a new business/prospecting plan for your territory.
  • Conducting industry research, identifying market trends, best practices, and leverage referrals to identify prospective customers.
  • Developing customized outreach strategies to target and engage prospects.
  • Building and maintaining a healthy pipeline across the territory and accurately forecast deal values and timelines.
  • Leading high-level conversations with prospects to qualify client needs and align the value of your solution.
  • Attending virtual and in-person events within the progressive ecosystem.
  • Collaborating with the extended sales team on opportunities embracing the role as consultant.
  • Logging all sales activities and client contacts in HubSpot.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • You have 2+ years of consultative sales experience and success as an individual sales contributor, meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • You have prior experience working with state parties, PACs, or national party committees.
  • You demonstrate success prospecting, finding and closing opportunities through your own outreach efforts via Sales Navigator, email, in-person and virtual networking (75%) while also managing inbound Marketing Leads (25%).
  • You are a CRM professional (bonus points if you’ve worked with HubSpot!).
  • You have proven you can manage 45 or more active opportunities at one time.
  • You execute a sales process in a solution sales methodology.
  • You can conduct product demonstrations and presentations.
  • You are experienced selling in a committee-driven environment, with multiple, cross-functional decision makers.
  • You enjoy working independently as well as in a collaborative team.
  • You value relationships and are excellent at communicating with a variety of stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • You are goal oriented and self-motivated.
  • You can travel up to 25% of the time.
  • You are committed to leveraging technology and data products to help Democratic candidates run for office and win, empower progressive causes, and increase civic participation.
