Your new role:We are looking for an experienced Senior Data and Performance Analyst to join the Data & Intelligence Team on a full time and fixed term basis for 12 months. The post will be predominantly working from home and offers flexible work patterns and fantastic training opportunities for somebody keen for professional development.
As a Senior Data and Performance Analyst, you will be working in a supportive and innovative team, overseeing business intelligence reporting and statutory data returns. You will manage a small team of experienced analysts, helping to ensure that data drives performance and better outcomes for our citizens. You will support and develop the team’s self-service data access vision, mainly via Power BI. You will help improve data quality and find innovative solutions to achieve this. This role operates as part of a wider Data & Intelligence function, but it will focus on Education, Early Years and Inclusion.
What you'll need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you need to be highly organised and capable of managing a varied and demanding workload. In order to effectively manage a team of analysts you need to have a good understanding of SQL and Power BI, with the ability to quality assure others’ work and understand the art of the possible. Previous experience of working in a similar role in a local authority is highly advantageous but not essential.
You need to be able to line manage a small team with varied skillsets and work effectively with other teams and external stakeholders who we regularly interact with. Good communication skills are essential, including the ability to present and explain data concepts in a meaningful and engaging way. The role will suit a data analyst/scientist wanting to make the next step in their career progression.
