About the Role 

In this role, you will redefine how benefits are administered at scale by leveraging cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics. As the Benefits Analyst at Instacart, you will leverage cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics to be a data storyteller. You’ll provide meaningful and actionable insights regarding benefits plan performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic decisions. Your work will directly impact employee engagement, program optimization, and overall benefits performance. 

You will also ensure the seamless operation of our company’s retirement plan, enabling employees to effectively plan for their financial future. In this role, you will handle the day-to-day administration of the 401(k) program, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, fostering strong vendor relationships, and delivering an exceptional participant experience.

About the Job 

Key Responsibilities:

  • AI-Driven Insights:
    • Utilize AI platforms to analyze data from various benefits programs, identifying trends and communicating actionable insights to inform decision-making.
    • Create dashboards that track program utilization, employee engagement, and cost efficiency.
    • Leverage predictive analytics to assess risks, forecast needs, and optimize vendor performance.
    • Deliver analytics reports to stakeholders, offering insights on benefit trends and participation rates.
  • Automation in Reporting & Compliance:
    • Complete annual compliance reporting requirements such as those related the Affordable Care Act and Section 125 Testing.
    • Implement automated solutions to improve operational efficiency in benefits reporting and compliance workflows.
  • 401(k) Plan Administration:
    • Manage the daily administration of the company’s 401(k) plan, including annual testing, audits, and Open Enrollment events.
    • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless participant experiences.
    • Monitor compliance with all relevant regulations through routine audits and vendor coordination.
    • Support annual 401(k) audit and 5500 filing
    • Complete annual NDT testing requirements including True Up or ROE processing

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience in data analytics with hands-on experience using AI and predictive tools.
  • Strong understanding of 401(k) plan administration, including compliance testing and audits.
  • Proficiency in creating clear, impactful data visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Solid working knowledge of benefit regulations such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex, detail-oriented tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in HR or Benefits Management (e.g., CEBS, SPHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Experience managing and integrating benefits during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Prior success in using AI to optimize benefits operations and enhance outcomes.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex decision-making situations while maintaining compliance.
