Job description

Job Description:

The Data Engineer is a new role within our Business Platforms Americas team. We are looking for a well-rounded Senior BI Developer with knowledge of SQL, Python, PowerBI, and data warehousing techniques. You will help us deliver leading-edge business analytics using the latest and greatest BI tools, such as cloud-based databases, self-service analytics and leading visualization tools allowing our aim to become a digital organization. This is a remote position, reporting to Lead Solutions Architect.

Responsibilities:

  • You will design and deploy scalable data solutions using Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Databricks, Power BI, Fabric, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • You will create data pipelines, integrations, and transformations to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval.
  • You will conduct complex business transformations to create dimensional models that serve as a foundation for analytical reporting by the analytics team.
  • You will perform data profiling, validation, and cleansing to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • You will perform unit test and conduct reviews with other team members to ensure code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and tuned for performance.
  • You will identify internal process improvements: automate manual processes, debug inefficient pipelines, and redesign infrastructure for performance and scalability.
  • You will deliver Technical Design Documents that outline processes, data flows, definitions, and business rules.
  • You will collaborate with business analysts to understand requirements and use cases, translating them into technical stories and tasks.
  • You will collaborate with partners to define data requirements and implement BI solutions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence Analyst or Developer roles.
  • 4+ years of experience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data warehousing.
  • 2+ years of experience developing data models and dashboards using Power BI within an IT department.
  • Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF) Pipelines, SSIS packages, relational database design, data modelling, and data warehousing principles.
  • Excellent programming skills in SQL, PL/SQL, Python etc.
  • Demonstrated experience using and configuring Azure DevOps & Git for integrating cloud services and establishing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud services, relational database design principles, data warehousing, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Expertise in performance analysis and tuning to ensure database performance.
  • Collaborate with developers and partners to gather and refine requirements.
  • Experience using Power BI to visualize data for analytics.
  • Experience of data warehousing strategies and techniques (e.g., Kimball Data Warehousing).

Additional information

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000 - $110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
