About The Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Senior Leaves Specialist to join our Benefits Leaves of Absence team. This individual will be responsible for supporting several leave of absence functions.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

  • Administration of new leave of absence claims, including running reports, identifying discrepancies, and updating systems
  • Throughout the duration of the leave, specialist is responsible for all communications with the employee, the employee's manager, Human Resources and all integrated partners
  • Reviews policy manuals regarding leave and disability management to conform to applicable laws and best practices.
  • Implement process improvements to resolve inefficiencies and address customer pain points.
  • Provide and seek negative and positive specific feedback to your peers, supporting your team's growth and development.
  • Perform LOA audits for clients as needed and provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Research and respond to requests from the LOA third-party vendor
  • Leads, assists and facilitates Interactive Process meetings with disabled employees and assist with negotiating work-related accommodation and return to work arrangements.
  • Provides department to resolve disability and leave management issues.
  • Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, PFL, STD, LTD, and other applicable legal, state, providence and federal regulations
  • Organize and maintain HR files, documents, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Manage and track LOA general email and voicemail, and respond promptly
  • Run and respond to wage report requests from internal and external partners
  • Responsible for the return to work process, including communication with employees and the timely and accurate updates to systems
  • Research employee data and provide updates, as needed
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee records and compliance with HIPAA privacy laws
  • Performs other LOA administration functions and projects, as needed

Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of work experience as a coordinator or administrator
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and exercise good judgment
  • Flexible with a team-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and provide timely follow up
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, a plus

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a Remote office location

The starting rate for this position is $19.42- $25 and may increase to $31.49 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
