Job description

Position Description  

The Brand Manager role is a critical member of the Brand Development team, supporting our high-growth business goals and helping to build the Weleda equity in N.A.   

This person will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to drive brand growth and achieve sales and profitability targets for the Weleda portfolio in NA. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and strong project management skills. The Brand Manager will be a key contributor to the brand's overall success, working cross-functionally with sales, product development, supply chain, and finance teams. The successful candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented, be proficient in data analysis and insight mining, and be able to work well cross-functionally and with agency partners. 

This role will be working remotely and qualifies for a flexible work schedule.  The Weleda North America head quarter office in Irvington, NY (20 miles North of New York City). Specific Responsibilities 

Brand Strategy and Planning:  

  • Assist in the development and implementation of annual brand plans, including marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify consumer insights and market trends. 
  • Ensure go-to-market activation upholds the brand's positioning, messaging, and visual identity. 
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track brand performance and measure ROI. 

Product Management:  

  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify new product opportunities and enhance existing products. 
  • Conduct consumer testing and analysis to gather feedback on product concepts and prototypes. 
  • Monitor product performance and recommend adjustments to product strategies as needed. 

 Financial Management:  

  • Analyze sales and profitability data to assess brand performance. 
  • Provide regular reports on brand performance and financial results. 

 Sales Support:  

  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and training materials. 
  • Analyze sales data and identify opportunities to drive sales growth. 
  • Work with sales to forecast future demand. 

 Cross-Functional Collaboration:  

  • Work closely with sales, product development, supply chain, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective execution of brand strategies. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including agencies, suppliers, and retailers. 

 Stage Gate Lead 

  • Champion project management of internal stage gate process for business critical and strategic growth projects. 
  • Think strategically about how business changes impact operations of a business and should be managed. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners across finance, sales strategy & planning, sales, and supply chain to champion process and templates. 

 

Necessary Technical Skills and Prior Experience 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or other related field required [MBA a plus] 

Experience 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer-packaged goods (sales or marketing) with experience in sales and brand analytics. 
  • Personal care & beauty experience a plus 

Skills 

  • Ability to identify and action growing trends within the market 
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to synthesize projects with many moving parts 
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools [Google analytics, Nielsen, IRI, Spins, retailer POS] 
  • Exceptional, fast decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze data quickly and drive impactful outcomes—even in the face of ambiguity 
  • Comprehensive understanding of how to manage a P&L 
  • Highly organized with strong experience in managing project timelines 
  • Must have solid organizational skills, be able to multitask, and be good with time-management 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • A high level of energy and self-motivation 
  • A commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards 
  • Superior written and oral communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

 Additional Information: 

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. 
  • Although Weleda NA is committed to a 100% Remote work environment, we do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. 

 The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000-$130,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition, Weleda offers a variety of benefits to eligible team members, including health insurance coverage, 401k, paid leave programs, 20 vacation days, paid holidays, generous employee discount and others. Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid for by the company. A background check may be required for this role.
