What You'll Do
As a UX Designer at Avalara, you will lead the design of user interfaces for our cloud-based tax compliance solutions. You will work with product managers, engineers, and other team members to create intuitive, user-friendly designs that meet the needs of our diverse user base.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Lead the UX design process from concept to completion for new features and products.
- Collaborate with teams to understand user needs and business goals.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Partner with user research and usability testing teams to gather feedback and refine designs.
- Develop and maintain design guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency across products.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior UX designers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX design.
- Develop and maintain detailed design specifications, while meeting accessibility standards.
- Present and defend design recommendations to partners, partners, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval.
- Measure the success and effectiveness of UX innovations.
- Create and maintain reusable Figma components.

What You'll Need to be Successful
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proven experience leading UX design projects from concept to launch.
- Experience with user-centred design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with user research and usability testing.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or similar.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
