Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
The BIM Manager will oversee and optimize BIM processes, ensuring efficient project execution across international teams. This role will help standardize and streamline residential and commercial project designs while maintaining a centralized system for easy access. Collaborating with team leaders, this role will integrate teams in the Philippines with global offices, ensuring adherence to Irish construction standards. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset, fostering a culture of open communication and adaptability, especially under tight deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the implementation and maintenance of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes.
- Develop and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and best practices across projects.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless BIM integration.
- Oversee the creation and management of BIM models and ensure their accuracy and quality.
- Provide training and support to team members on BIM tools and workflows.
- Conduct regular audits of BIM models to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders using BIM.
- Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies and industry trends.
- Prepare and present BIM-related reports and documentation to clients and senior management.
- Identify and resolve BIM-related issues and challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize Revit (primary) and AutoCAD (secondary) for project design, along with Photoshop, InDesign, Word, and Excel. Ensure BIM models comply with company-specific protocols.
- Oversee the production of planning applications and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Irish construction standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Must have 13 to 15+ years of experience in architectural BIM management, preferably for residential housing projects.
- Extensive knowledge of BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in other tools such as Microsoft Suite and Adobe Suite.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with excellent business level English; Ability to understand Irish accents.
- Leadership and team management skills to effectively work in a remote team.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to address BIM-related challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is a plus.
- Ability to create planning applications and construction drawings.
- Proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mile under time pressure.
