Impact of a Technical Content Writer

As a Technical Content Writer, you bridge the gap between complex technical concepts and clear, engaging communication. You craft compelling, accurate content that empowers audiences to understand our products, their value, and their impact. You use storytelling and technical expertise to drive understanding, adoption, and engagement, ensuring content plays a strategic role in business growth.

Beyond writing, you collaborate across teams, working with developers, engineers, and product marketers to ensure our messaging is both technically precise and strategically impactful. Your content spans marketing materials, product documentation, blogs, tutorials, event collateral, and more, strengthening our brand’s voice in the DevOps and cloud application space.

In this role, you report directly to the VP of Product Marketing and collaborate with various globally distributed teams.

What to expect

• Technical Content Creation: Write high-quality, clear, and engaging content across various formats, including blogs, product tutorials, website pages, ads, landing pages, presentations, storyboards, video scripts, swag, and more.

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with developers, engineers, and product teams to gather technical insights and translate them into compelling, user-friendly content.

• Persona-Driven Writing: Research buyer and user personas to craft content that is relevant, engaging, and tailored to different audience segments.

• Content Strategy & Review: Contribute to the development of content strategies that enhance product adoption, customer satisfaction, and brand consistency. Review, proof, and refine copy to align with brand standards and ensure clarity.

• Elevating Written Communications: Offer constructive feedback, collaborate across teams, and continuously raise the bar for our written materials to generate business impact.

• Industry Awareness: Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in software development, DevOps, and cloud deployment to ensure content remains accurate and relevant.

What you bring

• Technical Expertise: 2+ years of experience working closely with software developers or engineers, with a strong understanding of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, PHP, and NodeJS.

• Cloud & CMS Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud platforms like Render, Fly.io, and Heroku, as well as experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress and Drupal, and e-commerce tools like Magento.

• Writing Expertise: Exceptional English written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and concisely.

• Portfolio of Work: A strong portfolio showcasing technical writing samples, such as blogs, tutorials, or documentation.

• Strong Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams, gathering insights and feedback to refine content.

• Project Management Expertise: Experience managing multiple projects with shifting deadlines.

• Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down technical topics into digestible, engaging content.

• Data-Driven Approach: Use insights and analytics to adapt and optimize messaging for better engagement.

• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy in written materials.
