Job description

About the Working Families Party

The Working Families Party (WFP) is the progressive party for the multiracial working class, fighting for a nation that works for the many, not the few. We recruit, train, and support transformational candidates up and down the ballot — and run them to win.

We believe that no matter where we come from or what our color, most of us want the same things. We want to earn enough to thrive, not just survive, and leave a better future for our kids. We want healthy food and clean water, safe neighborhoods and a safe world. We want to be free.

The Working Families Party is regular people coming together across our differences to make a better future for us all. We’re a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. We want an America which realizes the promise – unrealized in our history – of freedom and equality for all.

The Development Team leads the Working Families Party and Working Families Power’s fundraising strategy to sustain its core operating costs, pursue new campaign fundraising opportunities, and engage wealthy people as stakeholders who are committed to working class governing power. The Team does this primarily by cultivating, stewarding, and growing a portfolio of high-dollar individual and institutional supporters. We also provide coaching and technical assistance to fundraisers in programmatic departments across the organizations.

The Development Team is looking for a Development Associate to provide essential administrative support to this mission-critical team within the organizations. Responsibilities include supporter data coordination, grants management, and other research and administrative projects. Members of the Development Team are collaborative and independent. We set annual objectives together, but own and drive our work plans and daily priorities with a high level of independence—but our colleagues are never more than a Slack message away.
