Position Summary:
Points of Light (POL) is committed to implementing a bold new strategic plan to bring the value and impact of volunteering to individuals, communities and society. The Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Programs (EVP) is our leader for the organization’s work to deliver on this strategy by advancing corporate social impact with our global Fortune 1000 partners and our 120 affiliates in 34 states and 32 countries. We have ambitious goals to grow volunteering. The EVP is responsible for managing our internal and external resources while scaling successfully and evaluating Points of Light’s (POL) corporate program portfolio. This portfolio includes corporate employee activation, corporate consulting and advisory services, the Corporate Service Council, The Civic 50 and corporate insights and thought leadership. Points of Light’s corporate programs drive high-impact, community-centered corporate social impact around the globe and contribute significant revenue to fuel POL mission priorities. This leader is responsible for deep collaboration with Development and Finance to ensure revenue goals are achieved and program profitability is regularly evaluated in support of enterprise financial health.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record of entrepreneurial leadership at a senior level in a competitive market, innovative and creative problem-solving, change management, and cultivating rising talent as well as in-depth and cross-sector experience in the CSR and employee volunteer space.
Position Functions and Responsibilities
- Corporate Program Innovation, Development, Management and Evaluation:
- Drive innovation and program integration to strengthen our programs for deeper impact and to ensure they align with Points of Light’s strategic plan while also generating revenue.
- Accountable for corporate program quality, including defining and delivering on program impact.
- Lead team in developing and delivering a competitive portfolio of corporate social impact programs that drive meaningful change across global markets.
- Partner with other program leaders to ensure alignment and integration with Global Affiliate Network and other Points of Light priorities.
- Establish clear KPIs and outcomes for corporate programs and implement strategies for measuring and reporting results, in collaboration with the measurement and evaluation leader.
- Revenue & Financial Management:
- Collaborate with the development team to design and position compelling, high-value corporate program opportunities to advance the POL mission.
- Partner with the finance department to establish, track and meet program profitability standards.
- Provide coaching and support to program team members in the strategic packaging, pricing, and presentation of corporate program offerings in collaboration with development leads. Ensure financial models support long-term sustainability and scalability.
- Lead team in budgeting, monthly financial review and forecasting of corporate program revenue and expenses.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide inspirational leadership to the Corporate Programs department including approximately one direct report.
- Cultivate and manage a high performing team while meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ensure that team structure, capability and capacity evolve in alignment with organizational strategies and partnership/programmatic needs.
- Organizational Leadership:
- Active agent for continuous business process improvement within their area of responsibility and in collaboration with enterprise improvement projects.
- Partner with the strategy department to develop and steward Points of Light's strategic plan and theory of change.
- Share responsibility for strategic integration of operational activities within and between reporting departments and other areas of the organization.

- Serve as member of the senior leadership team, collaborating extensively on enterprise-wide problem solving and decision making to ensure goals are achieved.
- Partner with chief development officer to build a strong relationship between program staff and development staff to better position POL to seek programmatic philanthropic funding in support of the organization’s ambitious strategic plan.
- Together with chief development officer, lead the strategic design and positioning of multi-million-dollar, multi-year proposals that align POL’s expertise with corporate priorities. Ensure program models are adaptable, scalable, and compelling for corporate investment.
- Actively participate as a partner in the fundraising process by writing proposals, preparing budgets, participating in fundraising meetings and suggesting new fundraising prospects from program networks and relationships.
- Support members of the program team in engaging in the fundraising process.
- Share responsibility with the chief development officer for seeking philanthropic support for POL programs and new initiatives.

- Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of programs across the project lifecycle from scoping/planning to implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Results-driven people and project manager with an ability to manage multiple commitments with limited supervision and a high level of attention to quality and detail; successful leadership and facilitation of cross-functional work-streams.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills across different cultures, levels within organizations and functions and across sectors.
- Experience building, implementing and measuring the success of CSR and corporate social impact programs or employee volunteer programs.
- Demonstrated experience using data to drive key decisions and building systems to capture and analyze data that answer strategy business questions and illustrate impact.
- Proven relationship and capacity builder to steward key partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and motivate and develop employees.
- Deep sense of empathy, passion for social change and creativity in addressing social issues with relevant volunteer experience in different global regions and countries.
- Experience building and managing program budgets, delivering consistent financial results in a growth environment.
- Comfort working within ambiguity and a rapidly changing environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in a senior management role, including exposure to both corporate and nonprofit sectors.
- Some international travel required (1-2 times/year; approximately 25% travel in the USA). Current passport required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
