Job description

About David Energy

David Energy is creating a new kind of power company. Traditional Retail Electricity Providers (REPs) are outdated, opaque, and painful for customers to engage with. We use software to monitor our customers' real-time energy usage, and we aggregate and analyze that data to maximize the value they get from their energy assets – batteries, EVs, HVAC systems and other distributed energy resources (DERs) via participation in energy markets. Our mission is to run the grid on clean energy 24/7.

The Role

We are looking for a seasoned product marketer who will play a pivotal role on our small-but-mighty marketing team. You are an expert storyteller who can reach the customer segments that matter to David Energy at the times our solution will resonate with them. You are a champion of sales enablement who can wrangle and inspire a sales team around a cohesive message that our customers value. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and engineering to develop and execute go-to-market strategies. Big plus if you thrive in the fast-paced, always-changing environment of a Series A start-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Product Positioning:

    • Develop and articulate clear product positioning and messaging that aligns with David Energy’s mission and market needs.

    • Articulate our value proposition in a compelling way tailored to diverse customer segments that will gain value by choosing our differentiated offering.

  • Content Development & Communication:

    • Produce high-quality marketing collateral including case studies, presentations, and digital content that effectively communicates product benefits and differentiators.

    • Manage and refine internal and external communications to ensure consistent brand messaging.

  • Sales Enablement:

    • Partner with the Sales team to develop tools, training, and resources that empower the team to increase growth velocity (e.g. sales cadences)

  • Go-to-Market Strategy:

    • Lead the planning and execution of product launches, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication across all channels.

    • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales teams to craft and implement successful go-to-market strategies.

  • Market & Competitive Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics within the energy technology space.

    • Translate market insights into actionable recommendations to refine product strategy and marketing tactics.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years experience in product marketing strategy and execution

  • Experience with a wide range of product marketing tactics, including value proposition development, product storytelling, sales enablement, market analysis, brand positioning, case study development and more

  • Demonstrated balance of analytical thinking, problem solving, and creativity

  • Experience using data and insights to inform and influence product strategy

  • You have prior experience in energy or electricity markets and marketing energy solutions to different customer segments
