Financial Controller

As a critical role in the organization, the Accounting Contractor will be responsible for directly supporting the Accounting team and the sales process. The role will be responsible for supporting the US and Canadian Controllers with invoicing clients, the month end close process (GAAP Accounting), weekly cash flow forecasting and financial reporting. 

Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 5 PM EST

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY 

• Support the billing process through the creation of billing notifications in the CRM and invoices • Support the month-end close process by preparing account reconciliations (prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue) and  journal entries 

• Assist with the preparation of the balance sheet reconciliation workbook 

• Assist in the preparation of the weekly cash flow forecast including weekly bank reconciliations • Assist in financial reporting and the consolidation in excel of multiple legal entities 

• Assist with the annual financial audit 

• Perform variance analysis of the financial statements 

• Utilizing technology to drive continuous improvement to the financial accounting processes, reports and controls • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution preferred 

• 3+ years of experience required of GAAP Accounting 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

• Working knowledge of Quickbooks preferred 

• Working knowledge of Hubspot preferred 

• Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Excel required 

• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's software systems 

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and ability to communicate with the team and complete projects  in an efficient and timely manner 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

This job operates in a professional virtual remote work environment. While performing the essential functions of this job, the  employee is required to stand and sit for prolonged periods. Specific vision abilities required include close and medium distance  vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal sounds, distinguish sound as voice and communicate through human speech. This position requires the ability to routinely operate a keyboard, computer mouse, telephone, fax, scanner, copier, writing tools, scissors, and other standard office equipment. On occasion, an employee will be asked to lift items weighing up to  25 lbs.
