Sr. Budget & Forecasting Analyst
In this role, you will be a key member of the Finance team at Natcast, responsible for the financial management and accounting of the budget and forecasting cycle, working closely with program managers, the Controller, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
To thrive in this role, you must have strong accounting and financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and experience in a non-profit or complex services and R&D environment.

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial management and accounting of Natcast's grant activities, supporting the organization's mission to drive innovation and strengthen the domestic semiconductor ecosystem. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of a mission-driven organization blending a non-profit culture with an entrepreneurial start-up environment.
Responsibilities
Manage all financial aspects of monthly rolling forecast, annual and long-range budgeting
Collaborate with budget managers to update rolling forecast and compare against funding order budgets and cost categories. Must have a robust knowledge of funding orders, realignments, and other aspects of managing donor funding
Initially, all work will be completed in an excel database. We will transition to an ERP. Play a pivotal role in the implementation of an ERP budget and forecasting module
Prepare monthly budget vs. actual reports, identify issues, and communicate with stakeholders. Prepare other reports required by the donor
Experience auditing accounting data, identifying errors, calculating accruals, allocations and other accounting related transactions
Ensure timely submission of financial reports required by grantors/government agencies
Review and update Internal Control and Procedures, as well as financial policies
Assist with annual budgeting, reforecasting financial projections, and month-end/year-end processes
Collaborate cross-functionally and become a business partner with lines of business. Must be able to learn how revenue is calculated and understand other key financial drivers. Must be able to create scenario analysis and create simple presentations of complex data.
Must be able to manage a rolling forecast business cycle from beginning to end

Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
Must have non-profit accounting experience and understand related financial drivers
An in-depth understanding of the procurement, accounting and the financial life cycle
Strong project management, multitasking, and prioritization skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations
High proficiency in Excel including writing complex formulas and developing workbooks
Attention to detail and accuracy in all work
A history of building effective relationships with business partners
Must be adept and knowing how to use excel to convey complex financial concepts
Must have experience in reinvention, innovation and continuous improvement
Preferred Skills and Experience
Semiconductor design, innovation or manufacturing; manufacturing construction, or educational or vocational program design.
Experience implementing an ERP or other software solution
