What You’ll Do 

As a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer, you will be a trusted resource in high-level simulation and analysis projects. Using ANSYS Maxwell, you will guide clients in refining their product designs through rigorous testing, analysis, and optimization. This role balances technical mastery with consulting, pre-sales engagement, and structured training delivery.

Pre-Sales Support

  • Provide precise, data-driven insights to support technical sales efforts.
  • Deliver in-depth software demonstrations and presentations.
  • Assist the sales team in accurately assessing customer technical requirements.

Consulting Services

  • Apply methodical problem-solving to understand customer challenges and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Develop and present structured project scopes, cost estimates, and consulting proposals.
  • Generate clear, well-documented technical reports that communicate findings with accuracy and depth.

Technical Support

  • Offer structured, factual guidance to end-users of ANSYS Maxwell, responding via email or direct technical consultations.

Training & Development

  • Conduct expert-level training in electromagnetic simulation, both online and in person.
  • Develop well-structured, thorough training materials for clients and internal teams.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert, mentoring junior engineers through structured guidance.

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in electromagnetic simulation and analysis.
  • Documented expertise in ANSYS Maxwell (ideally with electric machine or power electronics applications).

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep technical knowledge in electromagnetic fields, magnetic materials, and numerical methods.
  • A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience or strong interest in multi-physics simulations (thermal, structural, systems).
  • Ability to communicate with precision – clear, direct, and factual.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages is a plus.
  • High levels of focus and attention to accuracy, detail, and correctness.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal need for external validation.

Pay range: Base - $100,000-$140,000 annually  (Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location)

Location: Rochester, NY | Seattle, WA | Remote
