Job description

The Graphic Designer II is able to work both independently and collaboratively with the graphic design team to design and create files for print and online materials such as reports, social media posts, brochures, infographics, and promotional campaign materials. The Graphic Designer II uses experience and skills in art, design, and copy layout in order to understand client brand standards and create visually engaging concepts and the best approach to the client’s request. The Graphic Designer II uses their experience and ability to interpret client feedback in order to make quick and impacting design changes. This position is well-versed in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat DC, and other graphic design tools.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Designs and creates files for print and online materials such as reports, social media posts, downloadable pdf tip sheets, presentation slides decks, brochures, infographics (for print and web), promotional campaign materials, etc.
  • Assists senior graphic designers in making additions and revisions to existing files
  • Understands and maintains various client brand standards
  • Manages assigned project deadlines and maintains process flow
  • Develops brand guides from scratch and applies established client brand standards to designs and assists with brand development for clients, including logos, typography, color palettes, and images
  • Develops mood boards for video (design video title slide, lower thirds, etc.)
  • Experience in E-learning development, or willingness to learn
  • Searches for stock images
  • Retouches and colors correct images
  • Manages and maintains company-standard file structures for working assets
  • Determines best possible design approach to assigned job request
  • Reviews and interprets client/project manager feedback on designs

 

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree

 

Language: English Fluency (Written and Oral)

 

Experience: 5+ years of graphic design experience. Experience with print and digital media layout and production best practices, including designing for accessibility/508 compliance. Ability to follow specific branding requirements for various media. Adobe Creative Cloud programs: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat DC

 

Knowledge: Well-versed in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat DC. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (formatting skills in Word and PowerPoint are desirable but not required). Working knowledge of designing graphics in accordance with section 508 compliance standards desirable but not required

 

Soft Skills: Ability to take direction well and work independently on projects. Good communication skills: phone, verbal, and written. Ability to interact and collaborate with coworkers, clients, and management with guidance as needed. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Desire to learn and grow in design skills and software knowledge to keep abreast of industry concepts and developments

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer workstation.
  • Regularly uses a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Normal or corrected vision to read documents, view computer screens, and perform tasks that require visual accuracy.  
  • Ability to hear and understand spoken information in person and over the phone.
  • Minimal lifting and carrying may be required, typically light office supplies or documents.
  • Ability to move within the office environment to access equipment, files, and interact with colleagues.  
  • Ability to handle occasional stress related to deadlines, workloads, or challenging tasks.
